Notes:
Known locally as "North-Arm Dyke" at River Rd & Lynas Ln on the south riverbank of the Fraser River. Coordinate of the location: 49°10'26.6"N 123°09'54.5"W Most of my Seaplanes photos at CAM9 were taken here. Credit to Sandra's beautiful photo jetphotos.com/photo/9526722 that inspired and fascinated spotters like myself. Best for westbound departure and arrival. The location is also good for the CYVR south runway eastbound departure(best in the winter to avoid heat haze). To reduce engine noise in the city(east/right side of the photo), Vancouver South Seaplane Base don't always follow the traffic flow from CYVR if the east wind is mild as in the photo where an Alaska E175 departing eastbound while a Beaver taking off westbound. Good sunlight thru the day(if it's sunny). Backlit in early morning and evening of the summer. No heat haze over the waterway unless you try to shoot from far away. Bring longer reach lens for a better looking angle. Plenty of parking on the south side of River Rd. Photo sample: photo/9937200 and photo/10021202
