Notes:

A great spotting location with the downtown and Mt San Miguel as the backdrops. From late April to August, the sun will move slightly north of the runway about one hour before sunset such that both the airplanes and the backdrop are well-lit with minimized heat distortion, which is a huge problem for this distance until one hour before sunset. The spot is located west of a gulf course right next to a bus stop with the GPS coordinate being (32.74232, -117.21392), and a telephoto lens (e.g. 400mm for cropped frame) is preferred for angles like the aircraft shown in the photo, but 200mm is enough for departing aircraft over your head that is also possible from this location. See photo https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10961904 for an example.
