A serious accident occurred on South Airlines flight 8971 (flight number IATA: YG8971, ICAO: OTL8971, radio call sign: SOUTHLINE 8971) on February 13, 2013, when the deployed Antonov An-24RW of the Ukrainian South Airlines was on a domestic charter flight operated from Odessa to Donetsk, crashed next to the runway of Donetsk airport in fog. Five of the 55 occupants on board died in the accident.
