On the apron at RGIA, waiting to operate as 6E409 from HYD-VTZ on a monsoon day. Originally built as a 251NX, the aircraft was modified to a 252NX with LEAP-1A30 engines. Successor to the CFM56-5 series, these offer 15% improvement in fuel efficiency. Behind the G-swirl spinner are 18 Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) blades set using a 3-D Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) process. The blades untwist at higher rpm, improving aerodynamics. Lighter blades allow for weight saving in containment areas.
