Notes:

There is quite a story behind this photo, I have not been to Hamburg or Toulouse yet and never got the chance to see one, also the Beluga has been on wishlist for quite some time. But today my opportunity finally came! The Beluga diverted to my homebase Amsterdam during flight BGA143A from Chester to Hamburg due to heavy snowfall in Hamburg, the aircraft had to turn around after 3 landing attempts at Hamburg. It landed in Amsterdam during dusk and parked at stand P10, I realised that there was a night photo opportunity from the other side of the A5 motor way, but in order to look over the high fence that splits the airfield from the high way side, I had to step on the rooftop of my car together with my tripod and camera, I thought, shoes off and give it a try, but with heavy gusts up to 30 knots from the west there was just no chance for a long exposure shot that would result into something as a sharp picture should look like, I was ready to give up. After I got down again, I realised this would be a once in a lifetime and I had to do this differently, getting back on my car and putting the camera settings to a 1/10 shutter speed combined with tripod while putting myself between the heavy winds and the camera, it had costs me about 100 shots in nearly a half hour, gave me frozen finger tips and a nearly dented rooftop on my car to get this shot, but surely it was all worth it, never give up on your intuitions ! The Beluga left for Toulouse as flight BGA331A shortly after this photo was taken. [1600 pix]
