If you are looking for photos of a specific aircraft type, use this menu. Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only some of the more requested aircraft in our database.
If the aircraft you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menus.
Some menu selections include a generic aircraft model, as well as more specific variants of that airliner.
These variants are denoted by a - before the aircraft name.
Selecting 'Boeing 747,' for example, will show results featuring all Boeing 747 jetliners in our database, while selecting '- Boeing 747-200' will show all Boeing 747-200 variants in our database (Boeing 747-200, Boeing 747-212B, Boeing 747-283F, etc.)
If you are looking for photos of a specific airline, use this menu.
Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only airlines of which 10 or more photos exist in our database.
If the airline you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menu.
Airlines are listed in alphabetical order.
If you are looking for photos taken in a specific country, or at a specific airport, use this menu.
All countries represented in our database are included in this selection menu, which is updated automatically as the database grows.
There must be at least 20 photos from a specific airport in the database before that airport is added to this list.
Use this option to include only photos taken by a specific photographer in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each photographer available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific photographer, enclosed in brackets.
For example, an option of: - Paul Jones .. indicates that there are 550 total photos taken by Paul Jones currently in the database.
Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Photographers must have 100 or more photos in the database before their name is included in this selection menu.. The 'All Photographers' selection is the default selection for this option.
If you are looking for a specific category of photo, use this menu.
You may select to display only photos from certain categories, such as Special Paintschemes, Flight Deck photos, etc. New categories are constantly being added to this list.
The 'Keywords' field is perhaps the most useful field included in our search engine. Using this field, you may search for any word, term, or combinations of terms in our database. Every photo field is covered by the Keywords search routine.
The Keywords field is ideal for searching for such specifics as aircraft registrations, photographers' names, specific airport/city names, specific paintschemes (i.e. 'Wunala Dreaming'), etc. To use the Keywords field, begin by selecting a Keyworld search field. You may select either a specific database field (airline, aircraft, etc.), or choose to match your keyword to all database fields.
Next, select a Keyword limiter. There are three options from which to choose: - is exactly - starts with - contains Select the appropriate limiter for your search, then enter the keyword(s) you wish to search in the box on the right.
The Keywords search field is not case-sensitive.
Use this option to include only photos taken in a specific year in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each year available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific year, enclosed in brackets. For example, an option of: - 2003 .. indicates that there are 55,000 total photos taken in the year 2003 currently in the database. *Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Additionally, decade ranges (1990-1999, etc.) are available as selections in this menu. Selecting a decade range will show all photos matching your other search criteria from the selected decade. The 'All Years' selection is the default selection for this option.
Note: Now that the western end of the Tom Bradley International Terminal is open, there is nearly always a colorful array of tails to be seen throughout the day. Here are a Thai 777 (HS-TJV), Eva Air Cargo MD11 (B-16110; odd to see this at a...
Note: This 15 year old ex-TWA, AA 757 is still going strong, and looks sleek in Sky Team colors with winglets. Shown here taking to the skies from LAX's runway 25R on a sunny warm winter day (1200x800 pixels).
Note: An interesting lineup of five stored airliners (four of which are MD11s) likely awaiting the scrap pile. From top to bottom, these aircraft are; World MD11 N384WA, Atlas 747 N459MC, China Cargo MD11 B-2179, China Cargo MD11 N216SC and...
Note: Been sitting here a few years...note the gear is completely gone and the airframe is now propped up on railroad ties. Notice there are at least four engine cowlings under the fuselage front. Just imagine the places this bird has...
Note: About to depart from 24L on a sunny morning at LAX, about an hour before the Colby forest fire started, just to the east of the airport complex. Note the "Hollywood" sign in the hills just beyond the jet (1200x800 pixels).
Note: On a Sunday morning, of all times, we found this chopper biting into a wing in a scrap pile at Mojave. Notice what look like DC8 noses to the left, followed by landing gear trucks and tires further to the right. The MD83 in the upper...
Note: Here's a great collection of DC8s just basking in the sun at Mojave, nearly all of them without powerplants. Clockwise from top right are; N603AL, N71CX, N606AL, N828BX, N829BX and N623BX. Note the pile of nacelle lips behind N623BX...
Note: This newly painted AA 777 actually looks pretty sharp in the new colors....still, many of us miss the double A with the eagle logo. Note the “Hollywood” sign in the distance below the tail (1200x800 pixels).
Note: Here is the first image of this little "skypark" in the JP.net database, called the Rosamond Skypark (KL00). If you look carefully, you'll notice that homes are connected to the main taxiway via driveways which allows residents to...
Note: A small example of the variety of aircraft awaiting the chopping block at Mojave. As best as can be determined, in the photo are; UA 747 N1??UA, UA 747 N196UA, jetlite 737 VT-SIU, HAL DC10 N152AA, jetlite 737 VT-SIV and Southern Air 747...
Note: Here's the 24R landing view from the grassy knoll in Westchester, just in front of the In-N-Out burger restaurant (compare to aerial view here;Image

Note: This is one of Virgin America's newer A320 aircraft, and shown here is the front office where all the action takes place. Thanks to a great crew, a great redeye flight (an oxymoron!) and thank you for the visit (1200x800 pixels).
Note: Here is a surprise visitor to LAX, bearing a registration of Air China rather than Orient Thai, despite the titles. Upon approach, it was thought it was BA (the tail), however it appears to have been a ferry flight to the chopping blocks...
Note: The onset of the deliberately set Colby fire, early morning on January 16, 2014, just east of LAX. Note the "grass concrete" in the foreground which leads the view to the distance showing rising smoke, with runways 24L and 24R to the left...
Note: Three cargo MD11s all lined up, the center one minus its 1 and 3 engines, all awaiting their fate in the high California desert. Registrations are (from l. to r.); B-2178, N216SC and B-2179 (1200x800 pixels).
Note: Lufthansa's once gloried 747-400 now sits in its death throes under the hot inland California desert sun, stripped of its powerplants. First image of this jet at MHV in the jetphotos.net database; sad to see it like this, but, that's the...
