If you are looking for photos of a specific aircraft type, use this menu. Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only some of the more requested aircraft in our database.
If the aircraft you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menus.
Some menu selections include a generic aircraft model, as well as more specific variants of that airliner.
These variants are denoted by a - before the aircraft name.
Selecting 'Boeing 747,' for example, will show results featuring all Boeing 747 jetliners in our database, while selecting '- Boeing 747-200' will show all Boeing 747-200 variants in our database (Boeing 747-200, Boeing 747-212B, Boeing 747-283F, etc.)
If you are looking for photos of a specific airline, use this menu.
Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only airlines of which 10 or more photos exist in our database.
If the airline you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menu.
Airlines are listed in alphabetical order.
If you are looking for photos taken in a specific country, or at a specific airport, use this menu.
All countries represented in our database are included in this selection menu, which is updated automatically as the database grows.
There must be at least 20 photos from a specific airport in the database before that airport is added to this list.
Use this option to include only photos taken by a specific photographer in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each photographer available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific photographer, enclosed in brackets.
For example, an option of: - Paul Jones .. indicates that there are 550 total photos taken by Paul Jones currently in the database.
Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Photographers must have 100 or more photos in the database before their name is included in this selection menu.. The 'All Photographers' selection is the default selection for this option.
If you are looking for a specific category of photo, use this menu.
You may select to display only photos from certain categories, such as Special Paintschemes, Flight Deck photos, etc. New categories are constantly being added to this list.
The 'Keywords' field is perhaps the most useful field included in our search engine. Using this field, you may search for any word, term, or combinations of terms in our database. Every photo field is covered by the Keywords search routine.
The Keywords field is ideal for searching for such specifics as aircraft registrations, photographers' names, specific airport/city names, specific paintschemes (i.e. 'Wunala Dreaming'), etc. To use the Keywords field, begin by selecting a Keyworld search field. You may select either a specific database field (airline, aircraft, etc.), or choose to match your keyword to all database fields.
Next, select a Keyword limiter. There are three options from which to choose: - is exactly - starts with - contains Select the appropriate limiter for your search, then enter the keyword(s) you wish to search in the box on the right.
The Keywords search field is not case-sensitive.
Use this option to include only photos taken in a specific year in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each year available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific year, enclosed in brackets. For example, an option of: - 2003 .. indicates that there are 55,000 total photos taken in the year 2003 currently in the database. *Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Additionally, decade ranges (1990-1999, etc.) are available as selections in this menu. Selecting a decade range will show all photos matching your other search criteria from the selected decade. The 'All Years' selection is the default selection for this option.
Note: National Air and Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. The unmistakable head-on view of the Blackbird. Definitely one of the highlights of the collection. And I can't think of a better shot for my 100th acceptance on jetphotos!
Note: Bradley Space & Aviation Day 2009. Shot of the instrument panel of this interesting and quite narrow craft (note the windows / doors on either side of the cockpit). I love the "cargo hook release" button on the control stick! Many thanks...
Note: Only the cockpit of N714PA (Clipper Golden Eagle) has been preserved. Still, great to see an all analog cockpit! Note that the instruments of engine number 1 look different than the rest. Thanks to Dan for lending me his diffuser.
Note: US3165 from PHL to MSP. Low turn over the Delaware river and the Philly area shortly after take off. You can still see the airport in the distance. Canon EOS 40D, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens.
Note: AC364 from YYZ to BOS. Shortly after our early evening take off from YYZ's 6L. Nice view of the Toronto area, in particular the downtown area and the famous CN tower (at the top left), as the sun is going down behind us. I love the long...
Note: Overview of the tiny airport of Bonaire. Only a few private jets, by the looks of it, are parked on the ramp. The shot was taken from the deck of the Emerald Princess as she was leaving Bonaire for Grenada.
Note: LH4723 from LHR to FRA on this Lufthansa A320 named Gera. Arriving in FRA after a short flight from LHR. A nice collection of tails can be seen on the ramp, including a BA B757-200 and a PS B737-500 (with winglets!).
Note: LH3727 from ZRH to FRA on this Lufthansa B737-300 named Dettmold. We're taxiing towards our gate after a short but bumpy flight from ZRH. I assume that the construction is preparing FRA for the arrival of the A380.
Note: LH4723 from LHR to FRA. Morning take off on this Lufthansa A320 named Gera. There are a lot of tails on this shot: TG A346, VS 346 and B744, ET B752, AC B763 and B773ER, AA B763 and B772, to name a few. But the biggest of them all is on...
Note: This colorful Short 360 is on its take off run on AUA's runway 11. Given the time of departure, this must be flight 207 to Las Piedras, Venezuela. The shot was taken from the deck of the Emerald Princess as she was leaving Aruba on her way...
Note: LH4941 from EDI to FRA. Nice shot of the CFM56-3 engine of this Lufthansa B737-300 (named Sindelfingen). I like the reflection of the fuselage on the engine, as well as the clouds lit up by the setting sun. The shot was taken from the 6th...
Note: US1852 from MSP to PHL. Nice overview of MSP at the top of the picture as we're banking over Minnesota shortly after take off. There was lots of snow on the ground, partly due to a snowstorm only two days earlier.
Note: LH3382 from FRA to ATH. What a beautiful day for flying! We're making our way South towards Greece and we're overflying MUC / EDDM. When this shot was taken, D-AISN was Lufthansa's second newest plane and had been delivered just over a...
Note: US3271 from BOS to PHL. Not long after take off, we are on an easterly course at around 3,500ft, a min or so before turning south towards PHL. On the shot you can see Winthrop Beach and the Crystal Cove Marina.
Note: US701 from FRA to PHL. Banking gently shortly after take off from FRA's runway 07L/25R. The motorway parallel to us is 66, the one that's crossing it is 455. Just above the winglet you can see WIE.
Note: LH3382 from FRA to ATH. When this shot was taken, D-AISN was Lufthansa's second newest plane and had been delivered just over a month before (Jul 23, 2008). Eage-eyed viewers will notice that the interior is Airbus' new-style narrowbody...
Note: AC367 from BOS to YYZ. We have just started our descent towards YYZ. Throughout the flight there was quite a lot of weather and heavy cloud cover (both above and below the plane!). I only had one chance to snap this picture of the sun...
