If you are looking for photos of a specific aircraft type, use this menu. Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only some of the more requested aircraft in our database.
If the aircraft you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menus.
Some menu selections include a generic aircraft model, as well as more specific variants of that airliner.
These variants are denoted by a - before the aircraft name.
Selecting 'Boeing 747,' for example, will show results featuring all Boeing 747 jetliners in our database, while selecting '- Boeing 747-200' will show all Boeing 747-200 variants in our database (Boeing 747-200, Boeing 747-212B, Boeing 747-283F, etc.)
If you are looking for photos of a specific airline, use this menu.
Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only airlines of which 10 or more photos exist in our database.
If the airline you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menu.
Airlines are listed in alphabetical order.
If you are looking for photos taken in a specific country, or at a specific airport, use this menu.
All countries represented in our database are included in this selection menu, which is updated automatically as the database grows.
There must be at least 20 photos from a specific airport in the database before that airport is added to this list.
Use this option to include only photos taken by a specific photographer in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each photographer available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific photographer, enclosed in brackets.
For example, an option of: - Paul Jones .. indicates that there are 550 total photos taken by Paul Jones currently in the database.
Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Photographers must have 100 or more photos in the database before their name is included in this selection menu.. The 'All Photographers' selection is the default selection for this option.
If you are looking for a specific category of photo, use this menu.
You may select to display only photos from certain categories, such as Special Paintschemes, Flight Deck photos, etc. New categories are constantly being added to this list.
The 'Keywords' field is perhaps the most useful field included in our search engine. Using this field, you may search for any word, term, or combinations of terms in our database. Every photo field is covered by the Keywords search routine.
The Keywords field is ideal for searching for such specifics as aircraft registrations, photographers' names, specific airport/city names, specific paintschemes (i.e. 'Wunala Dreaming'), etc. To use the Keywords field, begin by selecting a Keyworld search field. You may select either a specific database field (airline, aircraft, etc.), or choose to match your keyword to all database fields.
Next, select a Keyword limiter. There are three options from which to choose: - is exactly - starts with - contains Select the appropriate limiter for your search, then enter the keyword(s) you wish to search in the box on the right.
The Keywords search field is not case-sensitive.
Use this option to include only photos taken in a specific year in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each year available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific year, enclosed in brackets. For example, an option of: - 2003 .. indicates that there are 55,000 total photos taken in the year 2003 currently in the database. *Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Additionally, decade ranges (1990-1999, etc.) are available as selections in this menu. Selecting a decade range will show all photos matching your other search criteria from the selected decade. The 'All Years' selection is the default selection for this option.
Note: One of the most beautiful takeoffs I've ever seen.
The mighty DC-10-30(S2-ACO) airborne via runway 32 on clear a clear summer afternoon of April 2013.
Biman's DC-10-30 & Airbus A310 fleets have been replaced by 4 Boeing 77W's & 4 Boeing...
Note: A Blast from the Past Biman's grande dame completes her pushback from gate C16 all ready to perform BG85 to Dhaka. She is definitely a most welcomed upgauge from the usual Boeing 737/Airbus A310. She began life with SQ as 9V-SDB in 1978...
Note: Sadly, Charlie Oscar is no longer in service and now a permanent resident at the death row at DAC. Where she has already started her slow and degrading decaying days. The center engine is already gone and she has also donated various...
Note: The mighty control column of a mighty aircraft, love the DC10 emblem! She was 29yrs old and to be phased out along with her sisterships by September. My 200th shot in the database. In 1600px for all the excellent worn out details, enjoy!
Note: When the departure for this bird was listed as 10 minutes early, you just know that that won't happen, and indeed, BG85 pushed back from C17 49 minutes late, and much to my delight, facing the VM. Here she is taxiing to 20C, amidst much...
Note: The past and the present of Singapore Airlines can be seen from this shot, an SQ A333 is on finals for RWY20R as she returns home from another medium-haul flight BG85 to Dhaka pushing back from gate C17. Definitely a surprise to see a...
Note: Finally reached my 100th shot here.A big thanks to M Azizul Islam,my mentor in spotting and without his help couldn’t have come this far,Shabbir Bashar, who taught me photography and a great spotter himself,Paul Furmanski for all those...
Note: The "good ol' days" when Biman still flew in their DC-10s. The flight from Dhaka was scheduled as a nighttime movement, but thanks to frequent delays often lasting several hours, these classic tri-holers would sometimes make their...
Note: Charlie-Oscar moments from touching down on rwy14 completing DXB-DAC leg. Notice that the 14 end was under repairs as evident from the large hole and the temporary line of touch down zone. Also notice the two 1011s in the back with GMGs...
Note: This 32 year old beauty getting her rest in the evening light after a flight from Riyadh, waiting to be towed to the hanger.
Was delivered to SQ in 1978 and Biman received her on 23.9.1983.Seating configuration is a little weird as she has...
Note: The second last flight of a Biman DC10 into LHR for the foreseeable future and also most probably DC10 passenger flights into LHR. Less than a week after this flight, the 777 and the 310 became the equipment of choice for Biman at LHR. ...
Note: At the time these classics were used frequently by Biman into LHR however as the years have gone by they can no longer make the trip efficiently and now sit idle at Biman's base awaiting the inevitable scrap mans visit. Sad to see the last...
Note: Most probably the swan song for BG and most probably for DC10s in general at LHR. So glad to be able to capture her as I haven't seen one at LHR since 2004. Lot of things came together for me to take this shot. My short window of time...
