Port side view of ‘Dick Smith Australia Explorer’ Bell 206B JetRanger III VH-DIK CN 3653 hovering over a wet apron outside the Canberra Airport YSCB Terminal in March 1984. Dick Smith completed a record-breaking solo helicopter world circumnavigation flight in 1982/83 in VH-DIK. (He ‘survived’ a rogue bullet hole in the top of the ferry tank when over Alaska!) The helo is now preserved in the Sydney ‘Powerhouse Museum’.
