I just want say RIP Jack Mcgorray. -I uploaded this photo when I heard the sad news of his sudden passing. Jack was a local fixture at KIWA (Willy, Mesa Williams Gateway, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway) I am certain all most everyone who has posted a picture from KIWA has either met him, heard of him, or asked when are the next ones coming.... -He always was friendly to anyone who would stop for a few minutes to ask about what's going on or talk airplanes. Whenever I was In Arizona Jack would message me to let me know if there were any interesting airplanes out there, so that I could drop by to see and photograph them. Jack joined the Colorado Air National Guard after graduating from Catalina High School in Tucson. AZ. -His love for airplanes was fostered while volunteering at the Pima Air Museum and led him to Colorado Aerotech to become an airplane mechanic. He also volunteered restoring vintage planes down at Pima Air Museum. -Rest In Peace my friend -Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return. Leonardo da Vinci -Strike Fighter Squadron 113 (VFA-113) "Stingers" is a United States Navy strike fighter squadron based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California.
