[Museum] The Chengdu J-7 is a single-seat single-engine supersonic fighter that was copied on the basis of the Soviet MiG-21 by Shenyang Aircraft Industry Co., Ltd. in the 1960s. It's first flight took place on January 17, 1966. It was the first type of fighters capable of reaching the double speed of sound velocity in China. This type of aircraft was mainly used for national air defense and seizing the front line air-to-air mission of the battlefield. As the second generation fighter, it can also perform ground attack missions.
