[1600px] The wonderful MD-11 visit Fortaleza again after a 3 year hiatus! This was flight GEC8258, from Frankfurt to Campinas via Dakar, with this unusual stop here in Fortaleza. This beauty brought equipment which was used to dismantle "Landshut", an ex-Lufthansa and TAF Linhas Aéreas B737-200 stored here in Fortaleza. This 737 was the one involved in the hijacking of LH181 back in 1977. The 737 was later airlifted to Germany, to be displayed in Friedrichshafen Dornier Museum. The beautiful triholer is seen here flaring on runway 13, arriving at 08:03 in the morning. The stickers at the rear are from Aktion Deutschland Hilft, a group of humanitarian aid agencies. Always cool to photograph the MD-11!
