The RAF Museum's Defiant as seen on static display at the 2018 Cosford Airshow as part of the line up of aircraft to celebrate 'RAF100'. The angle of the shot shows off its 4 gun turret to good effect. In initial combats with the Luftwaffe they were mistaken for Hurricanes and attacked from the rear. The resulting losses caused the Germans to change tactics and attack from the front. (The Defiant had no forward firing guns). Following grievous losses the type was withdrawn from day operations and used as a night fighter.
