One of the few aircraft that saw action in the Battle of Britain still flying, P3717 carries the markings of 253 Sqn from that period. Flown by P/O Samolinski it claimed a Messerschmitt Bf110 but in that action suffered severe damage. After a rebuild by Hawker's it was shipped to Russia for use there. It was discovered there in the 1990's and was returned to the UK for a full restoration into flying condition.
