(Tail wheel drag must reduce top speed by 10-15 knots!) Photo taken at the Warbirds Over Wanaka (WOW) 2018 Airshow. During the simulated ‘Air War’, this aircraft was nominally ‘shot down’ after straying in front of Avro Anson I ZK-RRA (ex K6183), re-enacting an actual WWII Anson aerial Victory! The Buchon, transported to Wanaka for WOW 2018 (and 2016) by John Romain of the Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC) at Duxford UK, was also expertly flown by John during the three-day airshow. This aircraft was a major ‘Drawcard’ for the Airshow. This HA1112 MIL Buchon has a Rolls Royce Merlin 500-45 engine installed.
