On display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. The B-18 evolved from the Douglas DB-1 design that entered the 1935 medium-bomber competition. Almost obsolete by the outbreak of war, several were destroyed at Hickam Field on Dec. 7, 1941. This example is painted as a Bolo from the 38th Reconnaissance Squadron in 1939.
