Departing to the south on runway 22R then banking and heading north to fly west gives a great overview of JFK. If you look carefully at the Jamaica Bay ends of runways 22R and 22L, you will see two large grassy regions, one of which is Bayswater State Park, the other being Inwood Park. Both great spotting locations. Notice the skyline of Manhattan in the upper left (1200x800 pixels).
