The occasion was the Closure of the ADF Helicopter School (ADFHS), which previously replaced 5 Squadron as the RAAF / RAN basic helicopter training facility. ADFHS closed on 01Dec2001, with Army helicopter training transferring to Oakey Queensland. RAN helicopter training reverted to NAS Nowra (YSNW).
