On retirement from flying in 2007, most of the RAF’s Jaguars went to the Defence College (now School) of Aeronautical Engineering at RAF Cosford for use as instructional airframes for technician training. A few were kept for training in flight-line operations, maintained in taxiing condition and operated by 238 Sqn, but this became unsustainable and a photo-call was held on the last day of movements by the squadron. The very last taxiing sortie was celebrated by this salute by the Fire Section.
