"The very first pic of this aircraft (ID606) as well as of this variant (de Havilland Vampire 'NF.54') in the database". ID606 is a Night Fighter of IAF. The vampires hold a very old recognition in the IAF fleet, IAF received its first slot of Vampires in January 1949 and then IAF Vampires saw action for the first time during the Indo-Pak war of 1965 but the Vampires were withdrawn from front line service after their losses from the PAF F-86 Sabres. This particular aircraft was active at No. 10 squadrons based in Palam itself and served with the IAF in the 60s. NF54 variant did not provide ejection seats.
