Named Christine after the Stephen King character due to her run of bad luck, this veteran Harrier has been the gate guardien at RAF Wittering since replacing Harrier GR3 XV779 on 27 April 2011. On 14th October 2005, she was damaged beyond economic repair after being hit by debris during a rocket attack on Kandahar airbase, Afghanistan. She was later used as an instructional airframe until the Harrier fleet was withdrawn and then restored to her current state
