Notes:

[1200px] I have never expected to catch this airplane in my trip to Russia. NATO reporting name "Maxdome", the IL-80VKP is a russian Airborne Command and control aircraft which may be eventually used by russian President and Officials in the event of a natural disaster or a nuclear war. There are only 4 of this modified IL-86 model, operated by the 8th Special Purpose Aviation Division (based at Chkalovsky) which role is similar to the american Boeing E-4B. The IL-80VKP has also a dorsal SATCOM canoe, believed to house advanced satellite communications equipment and a trailing wire antenna for very low frequency radio transmission and reception (likely for communication with ballistic missile submarines). It's one of the most important aircraft in Russia (just behind the presidential IL96) and it is very difficult to observe in operation. Normally it can only be seen at Russia Victory Day. Another dream came true to me. Seen here blasting out of runway 30R.
