Notes:

Early morning just after dawn. Ex 302 (Polish) Squadron who were based at Duxford during the Battle of Britain. This aircraft was written off on 15th September 1940. She was probably the one that crash landed on that day with P/O Wlodzimierz Karwowski at the controls. 75 years and 5 days later she stands proud as the Gate Guardian to Duxford aerodrome. Presented here in proud memory of the Polish pilots and the rest of the RAF pilots who gave their all and on many occasions made the supreme sacrifice so that we could remain free. This year is the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and I think it is fitting to name the 302 (Polish) Squadron pilots and crew who fought so bravely. They were...
