The fixed wing element of the UK Military Flying Training System contract has now passed an affordability review, clearing the way for Ascent Flying Training to provide British forces flying training for the next generation. Under the contract, Ascent manages delivery of advanced fast jet training on the MOD’s own fleet of Hawk T.2s at RAF Valley, where they will shortly be joined by contractor-supplied Beechcraft T-6 Texan basic trainers that will replace the Tucanos currently based at Linton-on-Ouse.
