The Mt Hagen Showground – famous for the colourful Mt Hagen Show – is in the foreground. Photo taken at the end of a 0.4 hour flight from Tambul, in Australian Army Bell 206B-1 Kiowa Helicopter A17-021. The helo was being operated on ‘Hot/High Performance Trials’ by the RAAF Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU), then based at Laverton Victoria. (Apologies for grainy Agfa CT21 slide film.)
