216 Sqn hosted an Enthusiasts’ Day at RAF Brize Norton to mark the retirement of three aircraft types from service: the Tristar, the VC10 and the C-130K Hercules. ZA147 is one of the last two RAF VC10s, both of which flew their last operational sorties the previous week; they were destined to be flown to Duxford and Bruntingthorpe respectively, ending a 48-year association between the type and RAF Brize Norton.
