Notes:

One of the RAF’s pooled Hercules fleet shines in the winter sun as it passes through the Bwlch at low level, chasing its own shadow. The RAF’s aircraft, which are based at Brize Norton and operated by 24, 30 & 47 Sqns, are scheduled for phased withdrawal between the first delivery of the Airbus A400M in 2014 to 2022, when the type is scheduled for retirement. It has however recently been announced that a small number may be retained beyond that date to support the special forces.
