I hoped to photograph two Spitfires in formation at Temora on 16Feb2013. However, Stephen Death was away fighting fires in an Air Tractor, so only Guy Bourke was available to fly the Spitfires (VH-HET and VH-XVI), one at a time! VH-HET (painted as A58-602 / RG-V) is shown during take-off roll from the grass next to Temora’s Rwy 36. VH-HET is actually ex-RAAF A58-758, which was the last Mk VIII Spitfire delivered to the RAAF (ex MV239) in April 1945.
