The airport of TRN / LIMF was closed from Friday 15th July to Tuesday, 19th to allow the work of rebuilding the track. This is the second year that the airport renew a portion of the surface of the runway and work will finally conclude next year with the completion of the last portion of the runway.
The interventions included the paving of some portions of the runway, taxiways and surrounding areas. Works will also imply that interventions by ENAV on AVL systems (Visual Aid Light) in areas affected by the excavation.
In detail, the operation covered about 90 000 square meters.
Were needed to pave 41 000 tons of asphalt. In this context remained open as many as 12 companies for the supply of bitumen, scattered throughout the Piedmont: otherwise would not have been so much asphalt can recover quickly.
Worked on the track, multi-shift, about 800 people who have used about 300 trucks.
Cables have been replaced for a length of about 4 km.
