This photo was uploaded as a tribute to the late Col Pay, who died in an aircraft accident at Lake Liddell, near Muswellbrook NSW on 07Dec 2007. This close cropped view shows Col taxying out in his Spitfire VH-HET Mk VIII (wearing its Real Serial A58-758), before performing a very professional handling display at the 1988 Canberra Air Pageant on 13Mar1988. He later sold this aircraft to the Temora Aviation Museum, where the Spitfire now wears Serial Number A58-602, Code RG-V. This aircraft was the Last Spitfire acquired by the RAAF, ex RAF MV239, in April 1945.
