Notes:

Front Stbd view of pole-mounted RAF Spitfire Mk IIa P7973, displayed in the Australian War Memorial (AWM) Second World War Gallery (North Africa) in May 2008. (The aircraft is positioned behind a 105mm Howitzer Field Gun display.) She was previously in the Aircraft Hall with Lancaster 'G for George'. This aircraft served with RAF Central Gunnery School, at Catfoss Yorkshire in 1944 and still wears the School's original livery and Code RH. RAAF WWII Pilot Bluey Truscott shot down a Luftwaffe Bf109 while flying this aircraft with RAAF 452 Sqn in Northern France on 09Aug1941. This was the first Spitfire I had seen in Australia, at the AWM in 1968.
