Rare low res 1977 Boeing 707 In-Flight Wing View (looking past Port P&W JT3D-3B engines). Photo taken from Qantas Boeing 707-338C VH-EAB, Cn 19622 (Named 'City of Canberra'), departing Sydney on an 8.4 hour Charter Flight to Butterworth Malaysia on 13Apr1977. The wing leading edge slats are extended and the engine auxiliary intake doors are open. Also, the Kurnell oil tanks are visible after take-off from Rwy 16. (I was on my first trip to Butterworth.) RAAF B707 A20-624 (ex Qantas VH-EAD, Cn 19624) departed Canberra on 22May2008 for Butterworth, taking personnel to Commemorate the RAAF's 50th Anniversary at Butterworth. Boeing 707-338C, Cn 19622 later became Air Niugini P2-ANA, ZAS Egypt SU-DAE, Nile Safaris Aviation ST-ALL, Avistar 5B-DAY, and is now USAF J-Stars 92-3289. (Qantas later operated a Boeing 747SP-38 Registered VH-EAB). Apologies for quality of this 1977 photo. First entry in JetPhotos database for Qantas B707-338C VH-EAB.
