Built in the late 1930s , formerly the only international airport in Andhra Pradesh, ever since the swanky new RGIA (VOHS) has opened at Shamshabad, this airport now hosts the INDIA AVIATION airshows and is used for flight training purposes by the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy and Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy . It is also host to the Begumpet Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force .
