The first scheduled Airbus A380 to land at a UK regional airport is about to touch down on Birmingham's runway 33. In doing so it dwarfs terminal 2 as it fly’s by. It is here for the official opening of the new International Pier and for Birmingham Airport’s 70th year. The Elmdon airport was opened by HRH The Duchess of Kent on Saturday 8 July 1939.
