Notes:

DL11 (LGW-ATL)... thankfully we were one of the last flights to get in before the storm hit and the lightening started. You can see DL 757, N623DL, slowing down on 27R and a DL CRJ on the horizon which is a few seconds from setting down on 27L. A few minutes later we had almost taxied to our stand before we shut down engines and stayed put for over an hour as the whole airport came to a stand-still. Over on the north side of the field a DL MD80 approached 28L and aborted, never to return. That was the last movement I saw before we got hitched up to a tug which pulled us onto our stand and, once inside, it became clear from the announcements and cancellations on the boards that people were ending up at all sorts of places instead of ATL while others were still at ATL instead of where they should have been. Fortunately I had a four-and-a-half hour lay over before my connection to SEA (see next in series ... Click Here).
