Notes:

Possibly the last photograph taken of this aircraft taxiing out after a refueling stop at RAF Khormaksar, sadly it was written off while landing at London Heathrow airport later that day. On 1 October XA897 departed from RAF Khormaksar for Heathrow on the last leg of its return journey on Operation Tasman. The weather at Heathrow was bad and the aircraft touched down short crashing and burst into flames. Only the two pilots Howard and Broadhurst escaped when their ejector seats fired. Probably my first aeroplane picture taken with my fathers Voglander 120 roll film camera.
