Two days after, you can get an idea about where the Iberia A340-600 (EC-JOH) stopped at the end of the RWY17 due a complex incident.

David As we can all see - and you mentioned in an email to me - the airport is open. Can you or anyone from the Ecuadorian Spotters take a picture of an aircraft departing over the A340? I am curious to see how much space there is between the Iberia plane and the other planes taking off. The idea of flying over the "downed" A340 during takeoff seems somewhat scary. Cheers Alberto

Nice angle and fantastic perspective. I defenitly would NOT like to take off from this airport this days. If the pilot doesn't make it at the first try there would be a problem. Nice shot David.

WOW, we could say that pilots are forced to do early rotations to avoid this huge 340! Nice job David, keep it up. greeting from Colombia! :-P
