Meiringen Air Base seen from the north. On the left there are the maintenence buildings as well as the tower and administrative buildings. The 2 taxiways leading towards the caverns built into the mountain can be seen. On top of the mountains forming the backdrop here there is the Ebenfluh shooting range where the yearly Axalp demonstration is held. On this particular day the afternoon session had to be aborted because of clouds moving into the shooting range which would have made the demonstration unsafe for the pilots as well as for the public.
