Scanned from a slide so perhaps not as sharp as I would have liked, this smart F-18A CAG bird is seen in better days as she sits in the hot Florida sun at the 2003 Tyndall Show. The aircraft was, at the time, on strength with VMFA 321 based at NAF Washington, Maryland. Sadly this once pristine aircraft was damaged beyond repair on the 20th of September 2004 when, on her delivery flight to the museum at Quantico VA., she crashed while doing a touch and go on arrival, (thankfully the piloy ejected and received only minor injuries), and skidded off the runway. She is now on display at the museum.
