Hi Patrick, very nice photo, but you're wrong about your statement, there are longer runways, like Edwards AFB in California -15.000 feet long- and many others. The real challenge is to land an aircraft at that altitude. Thanks for sharing and happy landings !!

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runway, there are at least 16 runways (paved - excluding the sand runway at Edwards AFB in California) that are longer than this runway, which is 13,123 ft (4,000 m). Just for your information.
