This Bell Jetranger had a bit of a problem at 1000'. It tried to land at the airport just adjacant to the crash site but fell short. Three pax on board but no serious injuries (except for the airframe...) Edited to add: I had left my Canon bag with $3500 worth of stuff at home and had to use my wife's p&s. She will not let me hear the end of this based on photo views.

Looks like an engine out auto rotation with a tail strike just prior to finishing his flare. Broke the boom off and damaged the gear with the resulting hard landing. They are lucky to be alive.
"This Bell Jetranger had a bit of a problem at FL1000." I wouldn't be surprised if they had an engine failure, considering they were at 100,000 feet in a helicopter.
"She will not let me hear the end of this based on photo views." HAHAHA I know what you mean, you have to frame your wife's camera with this photo.
