Me too !! Passing infront of this aircraft on static park, I could not resist "crossing the line" and went to inspect closely and touch those blotches (don't know if I could do that !), and infact they are not what they look like from a distance, but instead they are silicone patches blotched over / covering chipped off paint work, which make a lot of sense considering the rusty sea water ambient this aircraft operates over. So, yes, they are the effect of hitting "objects" / birds while flying, but it was not something on way in into Fairford. Otherwise, congratulations for the simply beautiful golden sunset silky colour !! Pity the top missing part....would have been screeners choice material. On my photo of same aircraft from same angle you may see the blotches in their natural "daylight" colour. Congrats again. Alan Cordina.
