There IS a FMS! It is visible at the right behind the throttles. It is VERY old, only with a tiny screen, but with a keyboard. These old MD-80s were sold by Austrian a few years later, with only younger MD-87s and MD-83 (all with glass cockpits ) remaining for some time.

Good Lord, I hope they have upgraded this plane in the meantime. Otherwise, they are still flying "needles" (= manually), with all the waypoints on the one yoke (no FMS visible) and the enroute charts on the other yoke. Hope I am wrong... But, very attractive shot of course ! Philippe
