Sorry, but these comments are all wrong, this plane is neither brand-new nor leased from Lufthansa nor does it belong to Lufthansa Technik. It is the first of eight ex-SIA Airbus A340-300E for Emirates which were traded in by Boeing and were stored in Hamburg (HAM) and Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF) for some time. During the storage time the German registration was applied. Emirates leased these eight aircraft because no short-term delivery slots for new aircraft were available. January 18, 2004

I'v had this infomation sent to me :- "The following info is from Air-Britian News for Dec 2003: D-AIFL Model A340-313X c/n 236 belongs to Lufthansa Technik-Schonefeld ex 9V-SJN & F-WWJP, Registered 8-21-03 or 21-8-03 European style date. Yet more info has come my way:- "This Aircraft was brandnew. This Registration is the first bevor it goes to Emirates. Airbus Industries livery from Hamburg."
