On the flight line at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. Following the decision to standardize training techniques and equipment between the USAF and USN, the Trojan was introduced into the Navy’s curriculum in 1952. After the USN’s evaluation of the T-28A, North American developed the T-28B for the Navy that featured the more powerful 1,425 hp Wright R-1820-86 engine and a larger propeller. Some T-28Bs were converted to T-28C standard that had arrester gear for dummy deck approach. Built in 1954, this T-28B previously served as BuNo 138351.
