While spotting arrivals on runway 26L, a military aircraft suddenly departed from 08R, followed by a Flydubai—winds had shifted, and arrivals moved to 08L. With just 30 minutes to catch a specific aircraft, we had to relocate from 26L to 26R for a taxiing shot. Walking briskly to the new spot, I scratched and lost my jacket in some bushes but had no time to retrieve it. Robert Dumitrescu, behind by 300–400 meters, sprinted ahead, while I pushed to reach the unfamiliar location with only minutes to spare. We arrived with just 7–8 minutes to spare. The result....? "HELLOJETS 49" operating flight H349 from Antalya (AYT/LTAI) is seen here vacating via taxiway Victor at Bucharest OTP. On the way back, I recovered my jacket and barely made it to the regional bus, thanks to Robert convincing the driver to wait a few tens of seconds for me. The chase was worth it—this aircraft had flown from Antalya to Stockholm the day before, so that says it all :)
