The cause and the result in one photo, as the MAX was not going to be part of Qatar Airways fleet if it wasn't for the dispute between Qatar Airways and Airbus that made the former to ground many A350s, including the one sitting with its engines and windows covered in the background, and made the latter to initially cancel Qatar's much needed A321 neo order, and then to delay the delivery of it till 2026 after reinstating the order following a settlement they reached for their legal dispute. This delay forced Qatar Airways to go for the MAX as Boeing had some ready MAX 8s that were intended to go to the Russian airline S7, but the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions that resulted from it prevented S7 form taking the delivery of them, so Qatar Airways scooped them up. Seen here the second MAX in Qatar Airways fleet while taxiing to runway 34L to depart to Kuwait (KWI) as flight QR1070
