On display at RAFM Cosford. The Ki-100 was an improved Ki-61. It had the reliable Mitsubishi Ha-112-II radial. This Ki-100-1b was one of 106 built at Kakamigahara and delivered to the IJAAF in July 45. It was found at Tan Son Nhut airfield in Saigon by the ATAIU-SEA in Aug 45. Whilst being ferried to nearby Bien Hoa on 26 Nov 45, the undercarriage would not extend and a belly landing was made. The fighter was repaired and shipped to Britain in 1946. In right hands it was superior to the P-51D and P-47N.
