Most UK-US flights depart in the daytime. One of those that depart at night (6pm) is UA921, LHR-EWR. I got this flight despite the inconvenient time in hopes of catching the Aurora again during the solar storm. Being lower latitude, my expectation was low on the horizon Aurora, which for most of the flight it was. But for a brief moment, ~1 minute, it burst into the most pink/orange I've seen, even lighting the cloudscape & wing in a purple glow. Former Hawaiian B763, only 20 years old.
