Close-cropped front Portside view of RAAF ‘Government Aircraft Factory’ (GAF) Canberra Mk20 A84-219 Cn 19, pole-mounted at ‘Alex Campbell Park’ Brymaroo QLD (North of Toowoomba) on 19Dec2022. ‘This aircraft had First Flight on 22May1955, and was Delivered to RAAF on 20Jun1955. A84-219 was Struck Off Charge at Amberley on 20Sep1975. Alex Campbell Park was opened on 28Feb1987 and the Canberra was unveiled by Group Captain Arthur Barnes DFC. The park stands as a memorial to Heavy Bombardment Field No.1 established 1943 and covering 862 acres. No.99 Sqn RAAF and No.15 Sqn USAAF operated B-24 Liberators from there as part of the "Brisbane Line of Defence" Ref: ADF-Serials.’
